2024 Ford F150 Price, Models, Release Date – American: If the 2024 F-150 is new to you, welcome! It’s the most popular car in the U.S., and it’s always been there in driveways and at work sites. Soon, it’ll be able to go electric with a Lightning version. The Ram 1500, Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra, Toyota Tundra, Nissan Titan, and now, the Rivian R1T have been the F-150’s main competitors in the last few years. It’s good in some versions, and it’s excellent and useful in all of them.
Not at all. For this year, the additions of onboard scales, a smart hitch, and adaptive damping are matched by more black-trim packages and package deals for the beds. The F-150 doesn’t try to hide the fact that it’s a truck, and why should it? It can do more than its bluff front end and tall body sides suggest. High-end versions of the car have leather and wood wrapped around easy-to-use controls and a big touchscreen, as well as practical features like a console workstation and under-seat storage, which make it even better than it looks.
F-150s come with five different powertrains to choose from. Our first choice would be to skip the base V-6 and go with the 2.7L turbo-6, which has enough power and good gas mileage. But the twin-turbo V-6, which comes with hybrid gear and makes 430 horsepower and 570 pounds-feet of torque, is too tempting. Our favorite F-150s have new adaptive damping that helps them close some of the gaps with the Ram 1500 when it comes to riding and handling. We don’t miss the V-8 much. There’s still a lot of power in the F-150, with a non-hybrid twin-turbo V-6 that can tow 14,000 pounds.
The F-150 can be made into a regular, extended, or crew cab. It can also be made into a van. Some have at least two or three-bed lengths. We give it a 7 for both comfort and utility because it can fit five people in the most common version and has a bed that can be turned into a couch. 6 if the F-150 regular-or long-cab is sold more than the four-door crew cab. Those versions may not have as much space in the back as the high-end models, but the crew cab is standard on them. It has 43.6 inches of rear-seat legroom, which is more than some big SUVs have.
XLT models have a folding center console that can be locked in the middle of the split-bench seat. There isn’t a back seat. Extendable cabs have a choice of bucket seats or a console in the front. They also come with rear-hinged rear doors and a straight-backed rear bench seat that isn’t big enough or comfortable for more than a short trip around town. Crew cabs have a lot of space in all directions. They can be made with leather upholstery, power-adjustable heated and cooled front seats, and a lie-flat feature for napping in the truck.
The 2.7-liter turbo V-6, which is standard on Lariats and can make 325 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque, is the best choice for people who want more than one engine. For towing, the F-150 can haul 2,480 pounds, and the 10-speed automatic transmission that comes with every one of them is very good at what it does. If you want a lot of power, the 400-horsepower 5.0-liter V-8 sounds like a NASCAR infield. It also cranks out 410 lb-ft of torque, which makes it possible to tow 13,000 lbs and carry 3,325 lbs.
But we prefer the 400-hp 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6, which has 500 lb-ft of torque and can tow 14,000 pounds. Ford’s well-executed hybrid is always there for people who want to save money. In this car, the 3.5-liter V-6 is paired with a 47-hp electric motor and a 1.5-kWh lithium-ion battery that can store up to 1.5 kWh. You can go electric-only for about 10 miles at a speed of about 10 mph. The hybrid’s total power output is about the same, but it loses a thousand pounds in towing power because of its larger size.
Release Date and Price
Prices for the 2024 F-150 and the new Lightning edition haven’t been set yet, but they should be soon. If you want a crew cab and four-wheel drive, the Lariat costs about $50,000. The XL cost about $31,000 last year, and the Lariat was our favorite. Almost all of the F-150s have automatic emergency brakes and an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, so you can use them. These cars have 18-inch wheels and a 12.0-inch touchscreen that can be used to control things like the power windows and leather seats. They also have a 2.7-liter turbo V-6. When the new Lightning comes out, it will be easier to spend more money than $80,000 on it.
